In light of Michael Heller’s activity in the field of popular science, his lecture entitled “The new evangelization and the world of science” is a valuable source of many potential impulses for teaching rational and critical thinking in the spirit of fides et ratio in the evangelizing activity of the Church. The author of the article, analyzing Heller’s October lecture, briefly extracts four main postulates from Heller’s whole scientific work. These theses are responses to the crisis of the Christian faith related to dynamic scientific and technological progress. From this standpoint, Heller’s ideas are examined: morality of thinking, philosophy as a way of life, ontology of the sense and the logosphere.
