Abstract

The contacts between M. Kopemik’s University in Toruń and the University of Ferrara started in 1962. Since then the authorities of both universities started to correspond and to maintain the closer relations. The cause o f these bonds was connecting both these universities the person of Mikołaj Kopernik. Because in Ferrara in 1503 he obtained the doctorate in the Canonic law, and the University in Toruń had his name as the patron. The bonds between both the universities were closer. And on 4 of March 1963 the rector of UMK (the University o f Mikołaj Kopernik), Professor Antoni Swinarski, visited Ferrara to take part in the inauguration of new University seat. In the same year he obtained the golden medal of Ferrara University. The topics of presented researches are two penetrating plots. The first - the visit of Polish delegation in Ferrara to sign the „Brotherly agreement”. The second - the visit on this ceremony invited by Professor Dell'Acqua Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński.
