Newcomers from Lithuania and Ruthenia in the Krakow consistory in the 15th and 16th centuries

Abstract

The article presents various models of clerical and church careers. Most of these people were located at the lower levels of the clerical hierarchy, but this did not prevent at least some of them from achieving considerable financial success. Even though their biographies do not appear on the pages of great history, it is impossible to question the role they played in transmitting Latin legal culture to the East.
