This article describes 17 archdeacons of Lublin mentioned in 15th-century sources. During this time, the value of income from the discussed benefice increased, which led to disputes over nominations for this position. Kings tended to present candidates to the archdeacons of Lublin, which was opposed by the bishops of Krakow, who defended their rights. For many years, this led to numerous disputes between candidates for the benefice. In the 15th century, the first recruits to the Lublin archdeaconry came from the Lublin region. Those who preceded them, as well as many Lublin archdeacons from the 15th century, came from other regions (especially Lesser Poland), and they gained access to the office in question thanks to the Krakow environment (cathedral chapter, royal court).
