Abstract

The work tells about the life and activities of the Polish priest, scientist, missionary and art lover, Fr. Konstanty Michalski CM. Born in Bogucice, with strong ties to Silesia, he loved Krakow and the mountains. His life was marked by war and experiences in concentration camps. Fr. Konstanty maintained numerous contacts with outstanding social, artistic and literary figures, which earned him respect and admiration. His bond with Polish culture and his involvement in secret teaching during the war are important elements of his biography. Fr. Michalski, a member of the Congregation of the Mission, was involved in pastoral work, preaching sermons and administering the sacraments. His life was full of difficult choices, sacrifices and meetings with unique figures, all set in the historical context of the turbulent years 1940–1944.
