Secret administration of the Archdiocese of Gniezno during the 'Kulturkampf'.

Abstract

This article attempts to present the history of the clandestine administration of the Archdiocese of Gniezno during the difficult period the Church experienced during the "Kulturkampf". In spite of many difficulties, the archbishop's delegates and provosts organised retreats for the clergy, tried to obtain the necessary funds for the administration of the archdiocese and led the actions of the clandestine pastoral ministry.
