Abstract

Mother Paula Zofia Tajber was an extraordinary person who, in her life and apostolate, focused on emphasizing the truth about Christ living in the human soul. She was born in 1890 in Biała Podlaska as the last child in a wealthy family. Raised with deep Catholic values, after her mother's death she experienced a crisis of faith that led her to reject religious practices. However, after the outbreak of World War I and the revolution in Russia, her thoughts changed, and the experience of war led her to a deeper understanding of her relationship with God. In 1919, she attempted to create a small community, which soon moved to Poland, settling in Krakow. Under the care of Bishop Adam Stefan Sapieha and the state authorities, she founded a Catholic Association to deepen religious life in honor of the Most Holy Soul of Christ the Lord. Despite numerous difficulties, such as lack of funds or repression by the Soviet authorities, the community developed, and Mother Paula acted as a spiritual guide, focusing on the spiritual formation of the sisters and cultivating faith in Christ living in people's souls. Her teaching and activities were based on the belief that life in union with Christ brings true joy and blessed fruits. All activities were undertaken with the intention of serving God and people, which brought positive results, even among people affected by suffering and pain. The Association's activities developed, although at the beginning it faced financial and material difficulties. Nevertheless, thanks to the perseverance and dedication of Mother Paula and her companions, it was possible to create a community that had a significant impact on religious and social life in Krakow. Mother Paula Zofia Thjber was a true example of the sanctity of personal life and deep faith in the presence of Christ in human life. Her legacy continues to inspire and lead to reflection on one's own spiritual life.
