Abstract

The aim of the scientific meeting was to present current threads of research by scientists from Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic and France on the history of the Cistercian Order in Poland, the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the countries of Central Europe. A special place in the meeting was devoted to Trzebnica and St. Jadwiga Śląska. The session was organized by the Team for research on the history and culture of the Cistercians in Poland operating at the Institute of History of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań, with the participation of the Parish of St. Jadwiga in Trzebnica and the Institute of History and the Institute of Art History of the University of Wrocław, the Pontifical Faculty of Theology in Wrocław, the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of St. Charles Borromeo in Trzebnica, with the participation of the Trzebnica City and Commune Office, the District Office in Trzebnica, the Society of Lovers of the Trzebnica Land and a complex of cultural institutions in Trzebnica. The proceedings took place in the former Cistercian monastery in Trzebnica. The conference topics focused on issues related to spirituality, liturgy of Cistercian nuns, saints and blesseds in the Cistercian order, the history of Trzebnica in Silesia, Cistercian nuns in Greater Poland, Western Pomerania and Gdańsk, Cistercian nuns in Kimbarówka, i.e. a monastery founded in the 18th century in the eastern territories of the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and Cistercian nuns in Central Europe, with particular emphasis on the Czech Republic and Germany - New March. Referring to the long tradition of Cistercian meetings, a scientific tour was organized for the conference participants, visiting the Cistercian monastery in Henryków, the monastery museum in Trzebnica and the basilica of St. Jadwiga.
