The subject of this article is a reflection on the involvement of Professor Anna Świderkówna (papirologist) in the popularization of the Bible. Its background is the long-lasting relationship with her spiritual director and friend Father Augustyn Jankowski OSB, the scientific editor of the Bible of the Millennium. The basis for the interpretation of A. Świderkówna›s writings are letters written by the clergyman to his penitent over a period of 30 years, confronted with her statements contained in an interview entitled Walking on Water. Thanks to these sources we can reconstruct the direction in which the acknowledged researcher, as well as the penitent, is heading. This relationship has a significant impact on her decisions, including the shape of her work.
