In the 1930s, in the parish of Pstrągowa, situated in the Przemyśl diocese of the Latin rite, the activity of the Catholic Action became noticeable. The initiators and ecclesiastical assistants of the Associations were the parish priests: Rev. Sylwester Bazylski (1927-1936) and Rev. Jan Bazan (1936-1947). In 1932 the Polish Female Youth Association was established there, and in the following year the Polish Male Youth Association, later transformed into branches of the Catholic Female Youth Association and the Catholic Male Youth Association. In 1935, the Catholic Men’s Association was founded again, and around 1936 the Catholic Women’s Association. Youth Associations played a special role in parish pastoral work; and they also conducted educational and cultural activities. Unfortunately, the lack of surviving sources does not make it possible to fully present the history and activities of the various sections of the Catholic Action.
