“Sociological and Political Studies: New Series” draws on the journal published from 1957 to 1968 by Julian Hochfeld and his Department of Sociology of Political Relations. The journal was revived in 2013 by the Institute of Sociology at the University of Warsaw. The core of the editorial board consists of faculty members from the Department of Political Sociology at the Faculty of Sociology, University of Warsaw. The journal focuses on political power, the state, political systems, democracy and its threats, civil society, armed conflicts, migration, climate policies, and elections for public offices. It devotes particular attention to Central and Eastern Europe. It publishes articles in the fields of sociology, political science, law, and political philosophy, in both Polish and English. The journal is published biannually, employs a double-blind review process, and adheres to COPE standards.
