The authors analyze historical and social phenomena of instrumentalisation and degradation of the child’s personality. In the light of the preliminary findings, they point to the need for social and cultural verification of the values on which relationships with children are funded. Reflecting on the importance of Christian values in childcare, they point to the role of the family in shaping the matrix of social life. They emphasize the role of the family in transmiting on the basic principles of social and moral life.
