During the first three decades of "ABMK" functioning, publications in the field of book studies were not of particular interest to reviewers cooperating with the editorial office. The first texts appeared in 1962, and the next 10 in the 1970s. Interestingly, in the 1980s almost no reviews of new publications were published in the journal. The situation changed in the last decade of the twentieth century, when the review department was brought back to include the review department, and in 1994 the Bibliographic Review was introduced. Discussions of works dealing with the subject of libraries and books began to appear on the pages of the periodical more and more often. Since 2000, however, a significant increase in the number of this type of materials, especially those devoted to church book collections, has been noticeable.
