Charity in Krakow has noble traditions, often dating back several dozen years. It took the form of both ad hoc and long-term assistance - often from generous foundations. Some of the initiatives in former Poland survived until the second half of the 19th century, others disappeared with the partitions. However, in their place, new organizations were created that supported and still support those in need with new energy. One example of such activity is the Congregation of the Servants of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, founded by the great effort of Saint. Józef Sebastian Pelczar and the Servant of God Klara Szczęsna. Today, on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of joining the Franciscan family, the members of this Congregation deserve special thanks for their presence and constant effort to implement the ideals of Father Seraphic.
