At an audience on 14 May 1969, the editor of Our Past, Fr Alfons Schletz, presented the last nine volumes of studies to Pope Paul VI. The Pope called Our Past a "documentum fidei" and, in heartfelt words, wished the journal continued excellent development and gave his fatherly blessing to the editor, collaborators, writers, printers and friends. Independently of the audience, the Secretariat of State sent a letter to the editor, the text of which is reproduced in this volume.
