Rola i zadania ojca wobec jego potomstwa oraz relacja z nim w świetle starotestamentalnej literatury mądrościowej

Abstract

Pierwsza część artykułu zawiera szczegółową analizę występowania hebrajskiego rzeczownika אׇב i greckiego πατήρ w biblijnych księgach tradycji sapiencjalnej (Hi, Koh, Prz, Syr i Mdr), co pozwoliło wyodrębnić teksty mówiące o ojcu ziemskim (biologicznym). Druga część to analiza tych tekstów pod kątem roli ojca wobec potomstwa i jego zadań wobec dzieci. Wynika z niej, że głównym zadaniem ojca jest wychowanie dzieci i przekazanie im wartości religijnych i moralnych, według których powinny żyć i postępować, aby osiągnąć najważniejszy cel swojego życia, jakim jest mądrość rozumiana nie jako posiadanie wiedzy intelektualnej, ale jako właściwy sposób postępowania - zgodny z przymierzem i wiarą w Boga. Co więcej, księgi mądrościowe Starego Testamentu ukazują wybrane aspekty relacji ojca do dzieci, zwłaszcza do syna, oraz potomstwa do rodzica. Może ona być zarówno pozytywna (szacunek i cześć), jak i negatywna (np. złośliwość czy zniewaga). Te pierwsze są chwalone, podczas gdy te drugie są potępiane i ganione przez mędrców. Niniejszy artykuł nie jest wyczerpującym omówieniem relacji między ojcem a jego potomstwem, ale przedstawia najważniejsze aspekty tego związku z perspektywy mądrości starożytnego Izraela.
