The legislator protecting various legal interests of a child does not use uniform terminology in the Polish Penal Code, but uses different expressions such as "conceived child", "minor", "minor under 15". They are included in the definition of "child" in the Convention on the Rights of the Child and in the Law on the Ombudsman for Children. The term "conceived child" as a separate term for the term "man" results in a weaker protection of human life and health in the prenatal period of development. To increase the degree of child protection, the term "minor" is used. The legislator then introduces higher criminal sanctions for acts directed against the child or criminalizes behavior that is not prohibited when directed against adults.
