The aim of this article is to review the linguistic means used to evaluate players in post-match reviews published on the Internet. The focus is on stylistic devices of evaluating the attitudes of football players, as well as phraseology. Opinions on the performance of Polish national team players in the five most important matches in 2022 were observed. It was shown that journalists use many linguistic means to express critical judgments. When formulating opinions, they do not limit themselves to primary and secondary valuing words. The use of phraseologisms was repeatedly noted. A strong emphasis on metaphor is evident. Plasticity of description is intensified by comparisons. Hyperbole serves to strengthen the evaluation. Rhetorical questions are rarely used. The authors occasionally use irony.
