Sources for the research on the history of the Corpus Christi Canons Regular monastery in Krakow in the collection of the Archives of the Cistercian Fathers in Szczyrzyc

Abstract

In the monastic archives of the Cistercian Fathers in Szczyrzyc there is a small group of files relating to the Order of the Canons Regular of the Lateran of Corpus Christi in Cracow. These archives can be divided, according to their content, into documents which, sensu stricto, testify to the relations between the two Orders. In particular, they relate to the person of Marcin Kłoczyński, Prebendary General of the Congregation of Canons Regular of the Lateran of Corpus Christi in Krakow, patron, judge of the Krakow ecclesiastical court, bibliophile, whose name and signature appear on legal documents concerning the monastery of
Szczyrzyce monastery. The second small group of documents are what we can call the property deeds of the Szczyrzyce monastery; they concern the tenement house owned by the Cistercian monastery in Szczyrzyce. The mentioned tenement house was located in Kazimierz Kraków, near the monastery of the Canons Regular.
