The monuments of Gothic painting and sculpture in the area of the Przemyśl diocese do not constitute a closed artistic circle; on the contrary - especially in the earlier phase - they are the result of direct imports and inspirations penetrating here from neighbouring and even further areas. The aim of this article is to try to grasp the process of the formation of local environments, which, apart from the monuments, are referred to in archival records, mentioning the names of artists and craftsmen active in particular in Krosno and Przemyśl.
