The origin and construction of the Lublin Cathedral (post-Jesuit church) 1580-1625

Abstract

The subject of the text is the history of the Church of St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist in Lublin, which was originally a Jesuit church until 1773 and became the cathedral of the Lublin diocese in 1832. The main aim of the dissertation is to clarify the ambiguities related to the history of this church, especially in the context of its construction and origins. The article covers the period from 1580 to 1625, that is, from the beginning of the church's foundation to the completion of its interior construction.
