“No” to panic and sadness, or humour during the pandemic (based on Russian internet jokes)

Abstract

This article is devoted to Russian pandemic internet jokes. The aim of the work is the functional classification of jokes and the analysis of linguistic humour contained in them. The functional classification takes into account three criteria: the thematic criterion, the stereotype criterion and the genetic criterion. The analysis of linguistic humour reveals the polysemy of words, as well as lexical and phraseological innovations as the main linguistic phenomena on which this humour is based.
