Among the saints of the Church, Saint Nicholas the Bishop was the most popular patron saint of the Sącz parishes in the Middle Ages. This concerns both dedications of decanate (6) and archdeaconry (20). 7% were invocations to St. Andrew the Apostle, St. John the Baptist, St. Martin the Bishop, St. Michael the Archangel, and St. Stanislaus the Bishop. With reference to the altarpieces, those dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Holy Trinity, and All Saints dominated. While discussing the development of the cult of saints in the Sącz land, we might advance a claim that the main paths of the adaptation of the veneration of individual saints to Lesser Poland had its origin
in the circles of Western European countries, as well as in the neighbouring countries ̶ in particular, in the form of Czech and Hungarian influences.
