In the 17th and 18th centuries the parish of Wojcieszków belonged to the diocese of Kraków (Lublin archdeaconry, Łuków decanate). The villages belonging to the parish were situated on the territory of Stężyca in the province of Sandomierz and on the territory of Łuków in the province of Lublin. It was founded on 15 June 1437 by Zbigniew Oleśnicki, Bishop of Cracow, thanks to the donation of 9 June by a landowner from the village of Wojcieszków, Klemens Bielan, whose coat of arms was Ciołek.
The article, divided into five parts, analyses the main elements and factors that made possible the functioning of the Wojcieszków parish in the 17th and 18th centuries. The analysis of the sources is followed by a presentation of the demographic situation and the distribution of landed property in the parish of Wojcieszków. The study is mainly based on census documents from the second half of the 18th century. The following chapters deal with the endowments and the right of patronage of the landowners in Wojcieszków. This is followed by a presentation of the parish church and parish buildings, including the school and the hospital. The article ends with a presentation of the clergy and their ministry.
