The article deals with the activity of the Lateran canons during the January Uprising. Five Lateran canons took an active part in it - two from Kraśnik and three from Vilnius. Between 1861 and 1864, 14 canons were repressed for their participation in the national movement. One of them was killed, four went into exile, four were imprisoned, and five others were not punished but recorded as hostile and unruly. This was about 60% of the total number of Lateran canons from the described monasteries of the Polish lands of the Russian partition.
