The article discusses the process of the state taking over dormitories and boarding houses run by the Catholic Church. To carry out this task, it was proposed to use the same procedure and legal provisions as in the liquidation of minor religious seminaries, boarding schools and some formation houses of religious congregations in July 1952. Decisions to close centers run by religious orders were not preceded by any reminders to clarify or regulate their legal existence. In fact, the authorities' decisions to liquidate monastic dormitories and boarding houses also violated Art. 19 of the agreement between the state and the Church of April 1950, religious congregations were deprived of their movable and immovable property, making it impossible to conduct activities within the scope of their establishment and applicable laws.
