The authors of the text describe the sources and pillars of Vincentian
spirituality through the analysis of Vincentian studies, and attempt to understand
spiritual phenomena and the “method” of prayer in the life of St Vincent de Paul. The
above study led to the following conclusions: the spirituality of the founder of the
Congregation of the Mission was born of Love (God) and turned to love (man); in his
spiritual life he used methods and concepts to the extent that they served orthopraxis;
and finally, at the centre of his mission Vincent placed man, who must be evangelized
in order to be saved.
