The article’s aim is to showcase the most important tasks that pastoral accompaniment of mixed marriages in the Catholic Church entails. Analysing theological sources, the author distinguishes three fundamental pastoral tasks: assisting the engaged couple in the process of getting prepared for marriage; strengthening the love and faith of spouses; being an aid in upbringing. Conclusions: Firstly, when assisting a mixed (in a religious sense) couple, one must emphasize the need to become familiar with the shared religious background; also, it is vital to sense dangers and deal with them. Secondly, cultivating spousal prayer and dialogue appears to be fundamental in the process of strengthening mutual love and faith. Thirdly, the Catholic spouse’s duties and efforts ought to be supported; also, strengthening the other spouse’s sense of responsibility to bring up the child or children in the Catholic faith is of importance.
