The article examines the position taken by the Mayor of Warsaw, Poland’s capital city, regarding the symbol of the Cross. First, the Ordinance of 8 May 2024 on the introduction of the Standards for Equal Treatment in the Warsaw City Hall is described. Second, the author cites relevant fragments of Sejm and Senate resolutions that informed the debate in defence of the Cross in the wake of the 2009 ruling of the European Court of Human Rights – resolutions that are still relevant given the current sociopolitical circumstances.
