The article attempts to answer the question how to understand the Marian principle in ecclesiology today, and what it means in the context of the doctrine of Divine Wisdom. This hermeneutics must be done considering contemporary socio-cultural conditions. In particular, the demands for reflection on the role and meaning of women, or more broadly the female element in the Church. The success of inculturation will therefore depend on the openness of the proposed interpretation to feminist ideas, which theology should not disregard. To this end, a suitable platform must be found for the needed reinterpretation of the Marian principle. Appropriate in this case means both orthodox and perspectival. Analyzing the documents of the last Council and the papal teaching after Vatican II, one can see that the Magisterium itself proposes for this purpose a broad sophiological treatise, in which Mariology is combined with ecclesiology.
