The first part of the article provides a few historical remarks concerning trials on witchcraft in Poland, particularly regarding a few cases which happened in the town of Kleczew between the 17th and the 18th century. The following part of the article refers to the linguistic aspects related to terminology used in studying witchcraft and witches. The final part of the article provides information on Kleczew, where the lawsuits against those who “voluntarily deviated from God” took place.
