This article focuses on the student’s posture when writing an essay. Every student, when confronted with an educational task, adopts certain postures, i.e. a certain way of responding to the situation. Due to the fact that the educational process takes place in an artificial environment, where the teacher and students have their predefined roles, students’ postures towards the performance of this task may vary. Our aim is to investigate whether students display a reflective posture, or whether they treat this activity in an unreflective manner, limited only to completing the task. The observations presented in this paper will be based on the analysis of students’ papers and the results of the questionnaire.
