Abstract

Regional history is a constantly evolving field. Its importance in raising public awareness and morals is increasingly appreciated today. In this field, the help of amateur historians, who work in the region and have the passion and conditions for historical research, is indispensable. The aim of this article is to present the figure of Father Aleksander Bastrzykowski, who combined historical research with his pastoral work. Bastrzykowski's publications, the reviewers emphasised his love for the past and his reverence for memories. His monographs can be described as a collection of historical and partly current news, painstakingly collected and faithfully presented in a certain order. In his publications he strove for a serene narration of past times. A bibliography of the printed works of Father Aleksander Bastrzykowski is attached to the text of this article.
