The text discusses the journey and pilgrimage of Duke Bogusław X of Pomerania to Rome at the end of the 15th century. The author acknowledges the difficulty in definitively assessing the motivation behind this journey. Following a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, the duke also visited Rome, traversing various cities. His arrival in the Eternal City was ceremoniously welcomed by representatives from different states and courts. During his stay in Rome, he had an audience with Pope Alexander VI. The journey concluded in January 1497, and it significantly influenced both foreign policy, especially concerning Brandenburg, and the development of the Duchy of Pomerania. The two-year journey allowed the duke to gain a better understanding of governance systems in other countries, strengthened his cultural interests, and had an impact on the subsequent restructuring of the duchy.
