So far, the history of the organ instruments located in the Gniezno cathedral has been the subject of research by ks. Władysław Zientarski and ks. Ireneusz Pawlak, who in the article summarized the over 500-year history of instruments. However, a large amount of archival materials collected in the Archdiocesan Archives in Gniezno allows for a significant expansion of these issues, as well as for touching upon threads that were omitted in the earlier work. This article focuses on the history of the organ of the Gniezno cathedral in the years 1913-1945. The adopted chronological framework is determined by two major events: in 1913, Bruno Goebel built a completely new organ, which burned completely as a result of the cathedral fire started by the Red Army in 1945.
