The article presents the charitable, educational and upbringing activities conducted by the Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Częstochowa in the years 1891-1939. The Congregation focused on children and youth from working-class backgrounds, working in orphanages, care facilities and conducting preparatory courses for professions and professional development courses. In Częstochowa, next to each house of the Congregation, and there were several of them, there was an orphanage or kindergarten. In the years 1919-1924, the Congregation ran a Vocational School for Young Girls in Częstochowa, whose director was Sister Alfonsa Konstancja Grzmiączka. In 1924, the School was transformed into a Women's Vocational Course. In addition to their profession, students learned about elements of general education and religious education. For many young girls it was the only chance to learn a profession. The congregation also had another vocational school for girls and organized tailoring, bookbinding and knitting classes in monastery workshops. The Little Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary worked in orphanages and hospitals in Częstochowa. Especially in an infectious disease hospital. The congregation ran an old people's home belonging to the Benevolent Society and a home for tuberculosis patients. In each house, a sister acted as a guardian of the poor and coordinated the house's charitable work. The Motherhouse, located near Jasna Góra, facilitated this work, especially among pilgrims. The sisters took part in all charitable activities carried out in the city, as well as in aid committees, parishes and the Pauline monastery.
