Wenn die Hüter des Sinns ihren Sinn verlieren: Burnout bei Geistlichen der Polnischen Katholischen Mission in Deutschland – Psychologische, organisatorische und migrationsbedingte Voraussetzungen und pastoralpraktische Präventionsansätze

Abstract

Der Artikel untersucht das Problem des beruflichen Burnouts unter Geistlichen der Polnischen Katholischen Mission in Deutschland und verortet es im weiteren Kontext psychologischer und soziologischer Forschung zu helfenden Berufen sowie theologischer und pastoraltheologischer Reflexion. Unter Rückgriff auf Literatur und empirische Studien wird die multidimensionale Natur des Burnouts herausgearbeitet: von klassischen psychologischen Faktoren (emotionale Erschöpfung, Depersonalisierung, vermindertes Erfolgserleben) über organisationale und institutionelle Bedingungen (übermäßige Arbeitsbelastung, unklare Rollenabgrenzungen, administrative Anforderungen) bis hin zu migrationsspezifischen Herausforderungen (geografische Zerstreuung der Gemeinden, Gefühle der Isolation, doppelte Loyalität gegenüber der polnischen und der deutschen Kirche). Ebenso werden Schutzfaktoren wie Spiritualität, gemeinschaftliche Unterstützung, Fortbildung und Supervision sowie Präventionsstrategien im Licht des Job Demands–Resources-Modells und der praktischen Christologie diskutiert. Der Artikel argumentiert, dass ein integraler Ansatz, der spirituelle, psychologische und organisatorische Dimensionen verbindet, wesentlich ist, um Burnout vorzubeugen und pastorales Handeln in multikulturellen und migrationsbezogenen Kontexten nachhaltig zu gestalten.
