Neologisms with the prefixoid кибер- and their Polish equivalents in a comparative aspect

Abstract

This article analyses Russian neologisms with the prefixoid кибер- and their Polish equivalents. The research material consists of Russian compound words containing the prefixoid кибер-, for which Polish equivalents have been identified. The aim of the study is to reveal structural and orthographic similarities and differences between Russian–Polish analogues with the component кибер-/cyber-, as well as to determine the types of translation equivalence of the source units. The article also analyzes the corpus frequency of translation pairs with the prefixoid кибер-/cyber- and the representation of this component in dictionaries of both languages. The main research methods used in the article are translation equivalence, comparative analysis, quantitative methods, and corpus-based frequency analysis of linguistic units.
