Alzheimer's disease is one of the most serious neurological diseases of today’s ageing society. The number of people, particularly seniors, affected by this condition is increasing every year. Speech disorders are one of the earliest symptoms of this disease and reveal themselves early in its development. Despite the increasing interest of researchers in speech disorders associated with Alzheimer's dementia, there are still not enough empirical studies describing this issue. This article, based on a case study of a man, presents the characteristics of speech disorders in a person with Alzheimer's dementia, the course of speech therapy diagnosis with assessment of the level of individual language skills and the basic assumptions and directions for the planned speech therapy.
