The purpose of this article is to describe and classify clearly formulated indicators of sender-receiver in old scholarly linguistics-related texts (published at the turn of the 20th century). The research material includes four linguistic publications (written by Antoni Kalina, Jan Łoś, Aleksander Brückner and Zenon Klemensiewicz). The specifics of the academic communication process (taking into account all components of the act of communication) are outlined, and the method of the 100-word sample (analysis of all predicates occurring in a fragment from the middle part of the text) is used, and on this basis conclusions were drawn regarding the frequency of their appearance in the old texts.
