The service of sister R. Okęcka in the Congregation occurred in the new reality of the reborn homeland, after the difficult period – also for the congregation – of Poland’s partitions. The Province recovered houses previously taken over by the tsarist regime and opened new posts thanks to the increase of vocations. The Visitor took care about the development of nursing and pedagogical courses for sisters in the province, which was required by the character of their hospital and pedagogical service. Her personality was characterized by the virtue of spiritual and physical mortification. In daily contacts with people she was humble and straightforward and in individual relations she was characterized by subtlety and ability to listen to others. Being the headmistress of the seminary and the visitor of the province, she took care about deep devotion and the development of the Vincentian spirit among the sisters. She did it by various means. A particular and fruitful form of contact with the sisters was her correspondence. After the death of sister R. Okęcka, on request of the superiors, her letters were sent to the provincial house. The collection of those letters is a valuable source of knowledge about the current affairs of the province and individual relations with the sisters. On the basis of the letters one can show essential and characteristic features of her spiritual character. In the congregation she left an opinion and conviction about the saintliness of her life.
