Due to the regulations of the order and the spiritual specificity of the Capuchin Order, members of the Capuchin monastery in Lublin were obliged to conduct an active apostolate. The monastery had no obligation to administer the parish and in this sense was not obliged to provide constant pastoral care. Nevertheless, the monks constantly helped the diocesan clergy with pastoral care - even when there were very few of them. They often took part, among others: in special pastoral activities (indulgences, retreats) - also diocesan-wide (missions in anniversary years). They also developed unique forms of special pastoral care. They took pastoral care of prisoners in Lublin prisons and the sick in local hospitals (they were especially active during major epidemics). The Lublin Capuchins performed apostolic service until the dissolution of the monastery in November 1864. Through their dedicated work as preachers, confessors and animators of spiritual life, they have gained great recognition among the clergy and believers of Lublin and the surrounding area.
