The article discusses legends and stories about the Blessed Virgin Mary in Polish oral folklore, especially in the Little Carpathians, which are rich and diverse. They are divided into two main cycles: the first describes Mary as a physical form, the second presents Her miraculous images. The article focuses mainly on the first cycle, which is divided into texts about the earthly life of Mary and her visits to earth. These texts often contain apocryphal elements, whether confirmed by the Church or not, and moralizing patterns of behavior. Mary is often presented in the context of natural phenomena, where she intervenes directly or indirectly, giving new features to the creatures of nature. This is the result of her activities for people. The Blessed Virgin is usually identified with the natural world, which is often symbolic. In folklore texts, Mary is presented as a simple woman, living in everyday conditions, while being the Queen of heaven and earth, endowed with all royal qualities. This vision of Mary comes from the teaching of the Church, literally understood as the Mother of God - the Mother of people.
