The crucifixion, recently placed on the outer wall of the choir of the church of St Mark in Krakow (now moved inside the church), has been the subject of research and a source of various opinions for over a hundred years. The author, based on the history of the church, comparative material and, above all, on formal and stylistic analysis, notes that the figures accompanying Christ (Mary and St John) come from around 1500 (or maybe a little earlier), but Christ He was crucified and executed in the early 16th century. The two figures assisting Christ seem to come from South German sculpture. The Crucified One is close to the late Gothic sculpture of Lesser Poland.
