Socio-moral problems in interwar Poland were often discussed in the pages of the press, including the Catholic press. In proceeding to analyze them, the causes of the emerging and spreading pathologies were pointed out, and possible solutions to the problems were presented, as well as actions taken in this direction, which fell here to the Catholic Church and related secular agencies. The article presents the above-mentioned topic, taking as a point of reference the Catholic weekly „Dzwon Niedzielny” ("Sunday Bell"), published in Cracow in 1925-1939. The problem of alcoholism, as well as sexual promiscuity and pornography consumption, and the associated decline of family values, as well as abortion, were singled out as the main aspects.
