The period chosen for this article is not only the period of the reception of Josephinism and its ecclesiastical reform in the Polish lands under Austrian rule, but also the period of the greatest territorial and structural changes for each Galician diocese, and therefore for the diocese of Przemyśl. The Diocese of Przemyśl, which had a fixed territory for more than 400 years, changed it several times during this period, and its internal territorial structure was greatly altered and expanded in comparison with the pre-secession period. And the diocese itself, considered a tertiary bishopric in the Old Polish period, became one of the first Polish dioceses in this period. The content of the article is essentially filled with the Josephine regulation of the territory of the diocese itself, outlining its new boundaries, and the Josephine regulation of the internal territorial structure of the bishopric. This includes the disappearance of the division of the diocese into archdeaconries and offices, and the regulation of the decanal and parish organisation.
