Abstract

At the end of 2001, a conference was held devoted to the history of the Cistercian abbey in Paradyż and its role in the history and culture of the borderland. The event was organized by the Institute of History of the University of Zielona Góra and the Major Seminary in Paradyż. During the conference, various aspects of the abbey's history were presented, including the foundation, endowment, views of the Cistercian Jakub of Paradyż and the financial contacts of the monastery with the Greater Poland knights. The speakers also discussed documents stored in the State Archives in Wrocław and the results of archaeological research and the architecture of the monastery complex.
