The Catholic Association of Men was founded in Wadowice in 1935 as the fourth column of the Catholic Action, which was introduced into the Wadowice parish in 1925 (between 1925 and 1930 it acted under the name Catholic League). The book of minutes from the meetings of the Association has been preserved in the archives of the Parish Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the Temple. The minutes throw light on some fascinating aspects of the life of one parish community - the struggle with apathy and routine, the dedication of a small group of activists, attempts at revitalizing people's religious life, everyday life of a small town, residents' reactions to great events in Poland and in the world. This unique document offers us a glimpse of the generation of Karol Wojtyła parents' and the environment which conditioned his upbringing and education.
